Daniels NJHS Members and Parents:
This is more of a trial email to make sure everyone's email is still the same. Our excellent NJHS President, Charlotte Fullbright, was gracious enough to get all the emails together. It was a lifesaver for me.
That being said, I just wanted to touch base with everyone. I will be sending out emails every month and sometimes more, to keep you all abreast of what is going on. Feel free to contact me at anytime. My phone number extension is at the bottom of this email, as we have a new phone system at Daniels, so everyone has extensions only. I will be back at school on August 19th, so you can contact me via email between now and then.
I did get an text from our media specialist, Kathy McDaniel, asking if I knew of any NJHS boys that could help Mr. Thornberry move some heavy boxes. If any NJHS boys would like to earn some community service, please contact the main number of the school and let either Mrs.Sharp, our bookkeeper or Mrs. Cooper, our lead secretary, (they are the only ones who work during the summer in the main office), if you can help Mr . Thornberry.
Closer to school I will put a sign-up sheet for the teachers to fill out if they need help getting their classrooms together. If members have a favorite teacher you would like to help, you can contact that teachers personally. Remember NJHS members need 10 hours over the already 20 8th grade hours for community service, so any help before school and during the summer will count.
Ms Powell, an 8th grade Social Studies teacher, will be co-advising with me. I look forward to working with her, and I know she is looking forward to working with all of you.
